News \ Capcom Believes That Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Ain't A Port

Capcom is known for porting many games over to the Nintendo Wii and with their announcement of them bringing Dead Rising to the Nintendo Wii Capcom have come out to say that it is not a port and Christian Svensson has said this about it over on the Capcom Unity Forum:
“If you like RE4 Wii’s control scheme, you’re going to love this. I think it’s important to note: this isn’t a port. This is recreated from the ground up for the Wii. So while it borrows things like story and location, there are many changes from the 360 beyond the obvious graphical ones.” - Christian Svensson, Capcom’s Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

Then plug in your GC controller once you start the game and you'll get the the original control set up and your laser aiming module back.

No, they're saying it's a new game using the RE4 engine with themes and elements borrowed from the 360 game Dead Rising. One of things that let Dead Rising down (IMO) was the control set up. If it plays like RE4 on Wii then this could be really good!

Wow. If that's the case, Twilight Princes is 100% original and not a port of the Gamecube version...I mean...the whole game is mirror flipped...IT'S TOTALLY ORIGINAL!!!

well I hope it don't turn out like Biohazard 0/Resident Evil 0 on Wii coz I got the game but it ain't as good as RE:4 or RE:UC, at least they are putting effort in to Dead Rising

That's true, changing a game on any level means more than a code wrapper.... but but but no realtime-ness
