News \ Guitar Hero World Tour's Storage Solution

As previously revealed, Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii was confirmed for Downloadable Content.. This was great news and all, but where were we going to store the many songs downloaded? I doubt on our tiny VC and WiiWare filled hard drive?!
Ha! Guitar Hero had the answer.. SD Storage!
Okay so its really obvious answer, but what makes this different is the fact that you may download songs straight onto your SD Card, and not only that, but play them from the SD Card.
This means no moving and swapping files from hard drive to SD card, which those with hundreds of VC game's know how annoying it is.

What this could lead to also, is custom designed songs of your choice, being transfered onto the SD for play on Guitar Hero.
The possibilities are endless..

Just wondering for the techies, would it be possible for Nintendo to make it possible for game saves and VC/WiiWare titles to be played via an update? I understand the saves to be a bit harder cos the game would be searching for the file in a certain directory, but maybe some sort of short-cut can be put there so that it collects from the SD card. Or maybe the Wii could detect if any Save Game Files are stored on an SD card that corresponds with an inserted game, and it automatically copies it to the HD until the game is ejected, and the file is updated on the SD card, with the temporary console copy being deleted.

unlike the 360 were the guitar could be used for any game as the buttons were the same, just differently placed and shaped..

I tried playing halo 3 with the Guitar and it was the worst thing ever lol



so it has been made specificly for this game? like you cant buy it and use it to store VCs or other stuff on it?

i imagine playing a shooting/adventure game with a guitar would be hard lol

You can use any SD card for this, theres not like an official wii storage card.
That picture is just a Wii edition of a sandisk SD card.

no you got it all wrong world tour just uses normal sd cards, nothing has been specifically made for the game
