British newspaper, The Daily Telegraph has generated yet another debate on the controversial game from Rockstar, Bully: Scholarship Edition, which is set to be released on the XBOX 360 and Wii soon. This comes after the original game, titled Canis Canem Edit, was released over a year ago on the Playstation 2.
The newspaper describes this new version as a "more realistic version of the game". To add more fuel to the fire, there are reports that the decision to revert the game back to the title "Bully" has generated even more anger within the community...or at least a small cross-section of it.
According to CVG, Niall Cowley, of the charity BeatBullying, said "(we're) disappointed this game was created in the first place. Some mindless people thought this was a fun, interesting piece of software to create, but it undermines all the hard work that organisations like ours are seeking to do."
A UK Rockstar spokesperson said "It is a comedic romp. The last game sold fabulously in the UK and was critically acclaimed. It is not a game about playing a bully. It is about the trials and tribulations of a boy in his first year at school. He protects children against other characters. People have to be able to make their own decisions and to judge for themselves, with an open mind."
Obviously, people nowadays don't understand the meaning of the term "tongue-in-cheek" and it's only a matter of time before someone speaks out down here.
