the controls are very smart, the movements are really good, but i didnt find myself being drawn back 2 play it. Felt the career mode was confusing, as iv never playd a NFL game before and i didnt know what 2 do.
Great gameplay...just not 4 me tho...

PatrickStar says:

super-star mode is awesome. i would rent it first and see if yo like it.the controls are very simple, to hike the ball you simply hold the wiimote out in front of yo and pull back. to throw press a direction on the d-pad and do a trowin motion.to run just use the nunchuck (if yo r playing 2 player the other player can drum the wiimote,up and down, for a speed boost).

I got this as my second game (after zelda of course). It is quite fun and can be challenging and intense too. I had no idea how to play american football at first but this has a training course and just playing it its fairly easy to figure out. I'd recommend it for ppl who like their sports games, and arent too cynical about americans.

I tell ya what mate Fifa is the leader in soccer games BUT its not the be all and end all... in fact sometimes they try and cram too much in... if nintendo releases their own WII Soccer it could be good if they keep it simple with basic soccer fundimentals

Yeh i agree with you, if they just keep adding stuff that we don't want it will make it too difficult tot play. Lets just keep it basic.

12/22/2006 Sydney

Reynaldo7 says:

This game is awsome.

Took me afew games to get into it and use the skills I practised in the Learn To Play features but once I got the hang of it the controller is a totaly freash start to what is a tiring franchise.

They pretty much added everything they could and the only thing being improved apon was the graphics really.

After playing this game i can totaly see a Rugby League title really kicking off on the Wii.

Would love to know how a soccer title would fair and how it's features would be used.

MelStorm says:

I guess if the wii has early success third parties will be tripping over themselves to get on board so i suppose then well find a couple of soccer games

11/27/2006 Melbourne, victoria

cfc_4_ever says:

Realli realli old, and onli on PC. There was a game called Microsoft International Soccer, killed Fifa, in game play and everything, it is well gone thou, never made another. I cant see Nintendo jumping into the world of real sport play. Take 2, has sum sport titles, but not soccer. But it is onli 1 yr, so the wii will hav 2008. Take 2's sporting games are actually pretty gud.

Yeah i want something REAL, same for Tennis and Basketball and so on. Pro Evolution Soccer is the other Exclusive title to the 360. So i cant think of any others. A game i wud like to see come is Gaelic Football. It is made by Australian developer IR Gurus, but onli released in Ireland. They also do AFL. But i think the Publisher is Sony, so it wont matter if it comes anyway, cause it will b PS3/PS2, which is just disappointing and no console is worth a grand

MelStorm said: I dont like grid iron i guess cause i never grew up with it..... a fully blown tennis game would be good for the wii and if i see fifa im going to have a big party

There is Masters Tennis, which is the 14th of January. Topspin 1 on Xbox (before MS, sold the title) was by far the best Tennis title EVER on anythin, and i hav owned the majority of them. The worst was Topspin 2 on the 360, biggest let down.

FIFA 2007 wont come cause MS managed to get it EXCLUSIVE for the 360, as well as PES. So Sony will miss out on FIFA, which is a massive selling game in Europe.

I have so many sports games. I hav had Madden once, and i took it bak to Eb within 7 days. No offence to anyone, i hate the stop start play, i cant even watch it and my TV is constantaly on 1 of the Sport Channels.

True mate.... imagine cricket with the wii remote that would be awesome

Cricket wud be awesome. The sound of the ball hitting the bat, through the wiimote. Playing Warney and spining the ball/wiimote. It wud be addictive. But ya wouldnt want to be playing a test and have to be feilding all day, ya arm wud get pretty sore!!

I had never played madden before this. It still isnt my type of game but some of the mini games like 2 on 2 can be hours of fun. As for the controls they do take a bit of getting used too and dont think its just tacked on because there is definatly a need to master them and not just do some gesture.

11/24/2006 US Texas (Wish I was in Australia)

DoGGpound says:

Gamespot: "At its best, Madden NFL 07 can feel revelatory, if only because it takes the existing Madden gameplay and tweaks it nicely to work with the Wii technology. It would have been so easy to just cram in some lousy, half-baked motion controls and call it a day, but it seems like some legitimate care went into the updated design in this version of Madden. While there's certainly room to improve on this debut, it's a wonderful start for the series on the Wii. Even if you've picked up other editions of Madden this year, Madden on the Wii is absolutely worth playing, because it's a whole different ballgame."

11/21/2006 Brisbane

MelStorm says:

Ive never played an NFL game but this could be the one that gets me interested.... however the throwing action isnt in the same motion that you would a real ball.... its more like a fishing action which really is not how you throw a ball. Not sure but i will be wanting to take a look

11/15/2006 Melbourne, victoria

wiifool says:

Looks like it may have a fair learning curve with those controls but yeah never know it is probably easier than the like 30 buttons a 360 has!

He sure does. Right city, wrong team tho. New York Jets

09/30/2006 Brisbane, QLD

IAMColonel says:

hmm i wonder if ben graham features on this game?

that would make him be one of the 2st people to be on 2 different video games for different codes .

(he was an ex-Geelong Cat (AFL) .. and now plays for New York Giants i thinks its the giants?)

09/30/2006 Melbourne

The Doctor says:

I''m a big NFL fan and Madden player. I''ve already got this for the 360 and PC (cuz my 360 broke down) so i won''t pick this version up.

One thing does concern me tho. The ''throwing'' motion. It looks more like a ''casting a fishing rod'' motion. If it was more of an authentic American Football passing motion, then that might have swayed me.

How cool would that be, to stand there and pretend to throw a ball and see it translate in game?!!

09/30/2006 Brisbane, QLD

IAMColonel says:

wonder how they get this one working .. not to sure if it will sell on the Wiiii .
