I'm going to do a full thing on these games next week or so, but take a moment to jump back in time, to an era when Bungie Studios wasn't owned by Microsoft, and was barely even developing for the Windows platform. Say hello to Marathon!

Or in this case, Marathon 2: Durandal! Check out the total online carnage of Wednesday night!



The games are are now freely available as Bungie released both the source code and the Marathon Trilogy a few years ago. If you wanna play, check out source.bungie.org/

Hi-res landscapes can be found on Simplici7y

Their UI sucks though, click 'XX downloads' for download
Simplici7y is the newest and most currently active file archive out there though what they have is pretty limited.

The Archives are still my place to go from random Marathon stuff (especially obscure OS9 tools lol)

You should also get shotsfired, which is hi res weapon effects, and also the hi res weapons pack, which can be found at source.bungie.org/

To the best of my knowledge there's no high-res pack for the actual lifeforms in the game. Someone started a project to poly-model them but I think it died

Edit: Wow, with all the high res textures, I can only get 20FPS in the very first section of 'Where are Monsters in Dreams', all those scrolling textures, damn hi tech ancient Jjaro technology lol

You need to download both Aleph One and the second Scenario (Durandal) And since your on a mac, you just simply copy Aleph One and Extras into the Durandal Folder and play =]
