could you ever access them or is it ur first time?
to access mine I open internet explorer and instead of a web address type 10.1.1.1, then the logon appears and the default username and password for most routers AFAIK is admin, type that in for both and you should be up and running in no time.

At least thats how I access my router, they may all be different only ever had 1 lol

DS through router? I thought you needed the USB adapter for the PC and then use its connection to use the net. I know that the wii and psp will connect to any wireless access point but not the DS. please clarify. Are you trying to connect the DS via wireless or alter firewall settings for the PC/DS connection?

You just go Settings, then type in your WEP Key and then do a Cinnection Test then you should be able to get a friend code then you can play online.

try visiting 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.2.254 one of these will let you log into the router and configure it (including changing it's IP address). Once you have done this, look at the IP you wrote down on the piece of paper and add 10 to the last digit in the IP address and assign that IP to the Belkin. Once you change the Belkin's IP you will then have to use that IP address to log in (instead of 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.2.50 e.g if you change the Belkin's IP to 192.168.1.15 then you will need to log into it with 192.168.1.15 but first you will need to connect your PC back to your original router and then plug the Belkin into your original router too.

type 'ipconfig /all' from a DOS window. get your gateway ip and pop that in your browser window. that should give you access to your router.

typed in both 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.2.254 and both came up with a google search...

*edit*
MrMorden, that was 10.1.1.1, and that gave me the modem settings...

then that is your modem/router - ok we now know the ip address. put :8080 on the end of the IP - it may give you access to a login screen. I will do some research on the model. brb

EDIT - according to Belkin the default IP range for that router is 192.168.2.x - if you are getting 10.x.x.x then either you have change the default range or you are getting a DHCP lease from another device. Do you have a modem then a router or is it all in one. If you have two devices then you are probably picking up an IP from the modem and not the router. If that is the case disconnect the modem from the equation and just plug in the PC directly to the router. then get a new lease.

does it matter if the modem is separate to the router?

*edit*
oook, so if I take the modem out of the loop then I should be able to access the router settings?

give it a go - you might be picking up your lease from you modem so try it with just the router - it is not good to have two network devices trying to assign leases. you will need to turn one of them off. one you are connected to the router only release/renew your lease.

If you can't access your router at all and you've tried everything, I would recommend a factory restore reset. Usually that involves holding down the reset button the router for about 10 seconds. Just make sure you read the instructions from top to bottom first.

Another suggestion, if it hasn't been mentioned, is to go into your network adapter settings on your PC and check the "Gateway" address. This is always the IP address to your router. This is provided that your computer is still connected and functioning on the network.

well, the Gateway address is 10.1.1.1, and that just gives me the modem stuff.

will resetting mean I have to re-install?

hmm, I'm coming into this convo a bit late but seeings as it's not resolved I may as well chuck in my 2c

insectoid: can you drop a big post with the following info..
- Modem type and model number
- Router type and model number (I know it's already posted but this way we'll have all the info in 1 post)
- Complete dump of ipconfig /all in cmd prompt

Also, a few questions...
- How are you connected to the net (are you connected to the router, which is then connected to the modem?
- How many devices are connected to the router?
- Are any wireless devices connected to the router?

Alternatively you could always reset the router to factory defaults and connect that way, but you could run into similar issues as they will most likely end up on different IP ranges. Once the info is in I'll give ya the best answer I can to fix your setup for DS play
