Wii Software \ What games do wii owners have to look foward to in 2008?

yeah, just wondering what we can expect to look foward to next year. This year was pretty good, we got RE4, super paper mario, mario strikers charged, metriod prime 3, and super mario galaxy.

But what about next year? I know there's zach and wiki, bwii, and then big releases like ssbb and mario kart wii, but I'm not much of a smash bro fan, and so there's nothing to really get exicited about. Will good 3rd party games start to come out by late 2008? Or will we contine to see a steady flow of crappy games (targetted at the casual market)?

For me, it looks like 2008 will be a game drought.

Animal Crossing is number 1 on my list (If they dont mess with the formula of the gamecube version)

I have no expectations of Wii Mario Kart because IMO they messed up the N64 and gamecube versions.

Super Mario Kart is where it is at - shorter tracks, short cuts, one power up per lap (unless you go in reverse if you got a dud like we used to), the computer characters were fair and didnt appear behind you - hands down the best game ever.

All Nintendo had to do was same game with more tracks and characters

They messed up.

Definately looking forward to Smash Brothers but I think they released the website too early. I have been looking at the teasers since the site opened almost 5 or 6 months ago.

Wish list:
Would love to see a proper wii Zelda game.

Would also love to see 2D worms with net play and 2D bomber man.

And the Silent Hill series.

The good 3rd party games will start coming out next year, because that's when they finish making them, rather than in about 2 weeks like alot of the current ones. Also, we still haven't seen:

A proper Zelda (dunno about this one)
Star Fox
Luigi's Mansion 2 (I hope...)
Maybe another Warioware game
Pikmin 3 (If Miyamoto doesn't make this, I will eat his soul)

And others, but I can't think of them.

Would hope there are a fair few 3rd party games we havent heard of yet next year. I think developers were a bit surprised with the success of the wii and so rushed to put out crappy games, hopefully they also started working on projects they invested more time into.

I know matt from ign said he knows of a MAJOR nintendo franchise back from the snes days that's going to be developed for the wii by nintendo though he couldn't tell us what franchise it is.
Then there's retro studios, I wonder what they're up to.
There's top spin and okami which I'm looking foward to plus a few others.

My wish list is:

Action/Adventure game like prince of persia or god of war. Lots of sword fighting and plaftforming.

Shooter/Infiltration/spy game like perfect dark/golden eye (or the splinter cell series). I'd love retro studios to make this game.

And a fully fledge tennis game...which I guess I'm getting in the form of top spin.
