Picture it: the late 80's, early 90's. A long, lost genre called the point and click adventure game was alive and kicking. For the very young reading this, this was a game by where you would issue commands to your character by selecting a verb and then an object or person either on the scene or in your inventory. The plotlines were always entertaining and the puzzles were sometimes frustrating but always rewarding. Two companies were ruling the roost: Lucasarts (formerly Lucasfilm) and Sierra. The classics were: Monkey Island series, Maniac Mansion, Kings Quest, Space Quest, Indianna Jones games, Day of the tenatacle, Sam & Max and many more.

With the advent of the Wii remote, I belive the time has come to revive this long, lost genre in the console world. I would go as far as to say that this type of game is perfectly suited to the Wii remote!

Point and click was a great genre.

Text adventure was greater.

But yeah, I wish episodic point-and-click games like the new Sam and Max would be available on consoles.

Yes!!! The Longest Journey was point and click as was Syberia 1 & 2, these were both PC games though, not console games....

We shall see. I'm guessing its a niche market, although gaining cult status might see these things developed!

LOL. Yeah me too. But they were fun.

Longest Journey was also released on XBOX.
Another game I liked was Fahrenheit (also known as Indigo Prophecy). A game like Fahrenheit would translate so well to wii, because in this Xbox game, you had to use the analogue sticks to perform certain scene based tasks that attempted to mimick real world movements. While this was happening full motion video would play on the screen to reflect your progress (or lack there of). It's needless to say the 'real world' moments would be heaps better simulated using wii controls.

I dunno if i explained it well enough... but its like an interactive movie... possibly what Sadness was gonna be.

While I don't have an official comment from Telltale I can say very very confidently that this is being worked on

Re: Zack and Wiki, it's great but it's not a free to explore adventure game like Monkey Island, rather it's played out in stages with a few puzzles and an objective per stage. The overall pace is quite high compared to many other recent adventure/puzzle games out there.
But seriously, it is so freaking awesome to play!

Magick hates me because I rejected her idea for 'murder day' where admins get to kill members with no legal repercussions, watch out for her :O :O :O
