Wii Software \ N64 Games for Wii

back in 1998 i had a N64 and love mario 64 and goldeneye, does any one know were i can obtain these playable versions for the wii and how hard is it to burn to disc.

i understand i require a mod chip to play backups.

Hmm, well, website rules state that we can't tell you where to get games or ROMS (the games you are after) from.

Mario 64 can be purchased from the Wii Shop Channel for 1000 points ($15).

As for obtaining them through the other method, it will require "homebrew" software to run them. A modchip is required. As yet, the N64 software is still being developed for the Wii/Gamecube, and I think it's a while off from being completed.

Ultimately, if you really want to play Nintendo 64 games on your Wii, it is much better to download and buy the games from the Wii Shop Channel, than trying to run emulators. N64 emulators aren't even close to perfect. Mario 64 would be the only one I can think of that runs perfectly through emulators.

Wii points cards can be obtained by videogame retailers such as EB Games, JB Hifi, Gametraders and more. Just keeps your eyes peeled, as EB Games tend to charge $35 for Wiipoints cards when they are worth $29.95. You will get 2000 points.

You can also purchase points using a credit card.

Is that confirmed? I thought Nintendo were still in talks with Rare to decide that...

You will require a wireless router/modem to be able to connect to the internet with your Wii, otherwise you will need to purchase a Nintendo Wifi adapter for your PC or a LAN adapter for your Wii (wired network).
