Just get a wireless router and then you dont have to have your PC on when using the wii. you can grab them for good prices these days

ive had heaps of probs with my usb wi-fi ive all but givin up with it im on bigpond cable too i`d go for the wireless router look on ebay you`ll prob get one for same price as usb

if you don't want a router, buy the lan adaptor that plugs into the usb port of the wii and you plug a ethernet cable into wired router
