I believe the MP3 disc contains Wii System Update 3.0U, so I would recommend using WiiBrickBlocker on the iso before putting it in a PAL system. Unless you are already on the 3.0E update of course...

if you use brickblocker it stops the game from working

So is there no way to get around this? I just read the Wii Region Compatibility and it says you will get duplicate channels. Can these be removed?
I thought the duplicate channels thing normally means a partial bricking.....

No, when it updates the firmware - it believes you don't have the channels, so it gives them to you (for people in US that don't have wireless). I'm guessing you can delete them.

just update to 3.0E first - disable the net from working - do the update and see if that works - i dont know if that will work or not

I am already on the latest 3.0E update, but I don't have the game yet. It would be good if someone on the latest update can try this and confirm that it doesn't give you duplicate channels if you are already on the latest update. I'm happy to give it a crack, but it doesn't look like I will be able to grab this game till tomorrow 
This is the only thing I'm concerned about, as I was under the impression if you were on the latest firmware the update on the disc wouldn't run. If this is the case, then the duplicate channel thing shouldn't happen assuming you are running 3.0E... if my logic is correct

Indeed, even on the very latest 3.0E, it does try to run an update, unfortunately. I had mine come up with the "initialising system update" message...so I rebooted and took the disc out .
We need to wait for some more information to come to light, I suppose. Bit lame. What a waste of otherwise productive quota. Them's the breaks, I suppose!

This is only a rumour, but I have read on another site that perhaps the way the update is inserted into the disc has been changed, and this is why patching with WiiBrickBlocker stops the game from loading. Hopefully Rockman has a look into this to see if there is a way to extract the update from this game disc so that it will still boot with the firmware removed..... Might require a new version of WiiBrickBlocker
