Let's say you developed this beautiful game. Absolutely beautiful, runs at 60 frames per second, stunning graphics and effects, and an amazing storyline related through in-game interactive cutscenes. This is your vision. You worked hard to get it to this point, to present it as flawlessly as you have.

Now imagine having to cut or dumb down most of it so that a weak system like Wii can run it. 30 frames per second, grainy graphics, boxy models because Wii can't handle too many polygons. The cutscenes go from interactive to pre-rendered. Atmosphere shot to hell.

It's not what you made. Not a masterpiece. Like telling Van Gogh that he should use less red and green, because some people are red-green colorblind.
