Today i found out that a kid in my class had printed off a picture from my myspace that had a photo of him arguing with my teacher... and he has given it to the principle, apparently tomorrow im about to get in alot of trouble(suspension) i hear. Do you guys know much about this? like anything i can say in my defence...because i cant see why he found it offensive

If you took the picture then you have the rights to it. If it was taken in a public area you have the right to post the picture where ever you like.

If the photo was taken in a closed enviroment, if you want to be able to post the picture anywhere in the public domain then the people in the pictures would need to sign a release form so you can use their picture in public.

That is the way i have come to understand it.

And if someone has taken a photo of you and you want to release the photo in public, then you need to credit the photographer...

Seriously just say you didnt think it was a big deal. Whats the worse that can happen, a couple of after-school detentions or a few days off school. No Biggie. You might even have to apoligise. Theres not much they can do, I cant see how they could expell you for it.

No seriously, remove the picture, and say someone posted it. Make sure you deny taking it becasue if it's on school property then it is illegal unless you have permission. Suspension isn't so bad though mate. I've been suspended a few times, it's just like a holiday at school, hahaha(not the best metaphor...), there's no way they can expell you for that, especially if it was inoffensive and there was no rule told to you that doing that was wrong in the school...
