I think there are going to be a lot of bad reviews because of this...it adds another excuse for hardcore gamers to stick to the xbox 360, for the online gameplay that Nintendo doesn't seem to offer (except for 1 game).

With the online rumours put to rest, I'm seriously contemplating whether I should buy Metroid Prime 3 or not. Right now, I'm leaning to the "no" side unless the single player experience is absolutely mind blowing or on par with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. If that's the case, then I'll purchase it. If not, I'll just do without it.

Big disappointment. But such is life.

We need to remember Nintendo are game makers first, I can't see them moving beyond minimal downloadable content and vs matches like Mario Strikers in a long time.
I'll always look to MS to lead in the expansion pack area etc.

Metroid Prime is not a tradtional FPS game, it's a First Person Adventure game. Traditionally, First Person Adventure games (Myst jumps to mind) are not online enabled, in fact most adventure games (zelda, fable, god of war, devil may cry) are not online multiplayer and they are better without it. MP2 Multiplayer was crap and online it wouldn't be any better. The controls aren't suited to fast-paced online multiplayer, it's more suited to a slower exploratory first person adventure game, so they can stick the Wifi Multi up there asses. Downloadable missions/content would possibly work, but with the traditional metroid gameplay of backtracking to new areas, it wouldn't work well. Besides, Battalion Wars 2 is confirmed online multi and Mario Strikers Football has been out here in Aus for over a month, which has great online multiplayer. Online games will flood the Wii when 3rd parties get off there asses, but i am glad MP3 isn't online multi. Red Steel 2 will be online multi, that'll do.

Couldn't agree more. Nintendo shouldn't be aloud to say it has online capibilites, because so far, it has done nothing but disappoint.
There are only a handful of games to be released, at this time, that feature wi-fi, and that includes the most recent 'Super Mario Strikers'.
If they can't be bothered putting in wi-fi for a game that is worthy of putting Nintendo up above the 360, then they deserve to get the **** said about them.

Im gonna see alot of hardcore gamers and some casual gamers that got a Wii that will get pissed off, because of Metroid Prime 3 not being on wifi which is also the reason alot of people wont buy this game.

I dont know how much of gamers are gonna take Nintendo ****, when others see a game that can take to the next level. So I sometimes wonder why Nintendo doesn't take the inisitive to response to gamers that fall upon on such games to make it through when it has so much potential to go online..

MPDS had quite average Wifi and game. If more is put onto the main title in MP3 than thats ok, but I would love to have Wifi battles with people. Hopfuly its got multiplayer of some sort which I can bash my brother in.

This here is a perfect example of fanboy idiocy. The press and fanboys ranted on for months about Metroid Prime 3's online multiplayer and as much as Retro Studios denied it like 3 TIMES! idiots like this refused to believe the people MAKING THE GAME FFS and instead listened to rumors and speculation. Next time, perhaps you will listen to the actual factual information from the developers mouth and not internet BS. Metroid Prime 3 was never intended to be online multiplayer and i am glad for that. MP2 taught us that Metroid Prime sucks as a FPS multiplayer game and should be kept as a first person adventure game instead. Adding online to the MP2 multiplayer is a waste of time, effort, disk space and resources. Keep in mind Red Steel 2, Battalion Wars 2 and Smash Bros will have some sort of online aspect, with the first 2 confirmed for online multiplayer. Metroid Prime 3 was never intended to be multiplayer and will be better without it!
