Hey Guys,

I just updated my Wii to the current firmware 2.12E (IIRC) and ever since the update, I have noticed that its either the disc thats spinning heaps faster or the lens reader is making alot more noise.

Has anyone else got the same problem? Or is it I have a faulty Wii and I should send it in for a warranty claim?

Planning on getting the Wii chipped so if there is a hardware problem I need to get that looked at before I get the chip installed.

I think its just the drive spinning fast when u get the wiikey u can make the drive either at x3 or x6 speed so this will take away the loud noise of ur disk spining if its set to x3 speed.

SO don't worry ur wii drive wont explode lol.

As long as ur not getting error messages or it making really loud weird noises of ur disk getting eaten by ur drive lol ull be ok.

Mine makes that whirring noise too, usually after traveling with it. It's really annoying. I was considering returning it thinking there was something wrong with it. Apparently that's not the case though? Still doesn't seem right.

I wouldn't say I move it a lot, but I bring it along sometimes on trips. It makes that noise no matter what game I put in. Usually if it sits for awhile and I play it a few times the sound goes away.
