I think this would depend on how you rate the value of the game. If you had the net-abilities then you're able to get updates, maybe other usb support (other forum topic), use it to browse the net and vote in the everybody votes channel, who knows what other updates.
BUT, if you will get more enjoyment out of a game then maybe that is your best bet, but make sure you get one that'll last.

Either way, you should get the one that will amuse you until you have the money to buy the other.

Dont worry about the usb adapter for the moment for an extra 50 bux you could buy a wifi router, besides from virtual console games(which starts to add up once you get a few of them) and the web browser which you'll end up paying for soon you arn't missing out on much. Save up for paper mario that way you'll get a game and enjoy it with out any extra costs.
