Of course it's a gimmick. Just like the forecast and news channels. At least it's free. Just a something to keep us occupied while we wait. It's harmless fun.

The guys from Today Today on Triple J did this kind of thing with their segment "2 Types of People".

Mario Kart update just fixes a bug when you leave player select screen up for too long.
