I realize now that most gaming shops do this practice. And they may be doing it for their own cost reduction and theft prevention. But it may not be sitting well with some customers.
Yes it is just packaging, but a lot of stores would not sell an opened item for full price. Most stores will even reduce the price of an item if the packaging it torn or opened. You would know this if you have been to target, bigw, myer, david jones, kmart, etc.
Some of you may say that it doesn't matter, it's just packaging, as long as the game works. Well, a used game works too, right? So why buy a brand new one? If I am paying full price for a game, I'd want to be 100% sure it is brand new. Otherwise i might as well save some money by buying a used game.
I think next time I'll just buy my new games from Myer or online.
