Wii Hardware \ Component cables not available for Aus Launch

Damn, just read some bad news at IGN. Apparently Nintendo Australia have stated that Wii Component cables will not be ready for the Oz Launch of the Wii.

Poor form Nintendo Australia, I find it a bit disappointing. I know most people out there don't care, but for those with LCDS/Plasmas, its a little annoying.

I pre-ordered mine with my Wii, and now I'm going to have to wait . Its annoying having to make two seperate trips when I should just be getting the lot on launch day.

I don't see why they couldn't have them ready in time for December 7. Its still two weeks away! Plenty of time to have them ready. Sorry I just had to vent.

Yeah this really sux. 480i looks really bad on lcd/plasma. I'm not sure if I even wanna plug it in until I get the component cable. I'm sure I will, but it's definitely gonna mess up my 1st wii experience.

Yeah that's exactly what I was meaning. It will be fine for people with normal standard TVs, but I know on my LCD composite looks pretty crap compared to a component connection.

Well I think I'm going to shut up now about the whole issue. After checking out eBay, I went pale. Some people are bidding over $150 for Wii Component Cables. They are very hard to come by at the moment and though there is a wait I should be thankful I'm getting it at a decent price.

maybe nintendo australia wants to push some extra production through so their initial shipment will satisfy demand better.
