Based on the original Mega Drive (Sega Genesis) version, Sonic The Hedgehog was a remake for the Sega Master System. This was not just a port, the Master System version includes all new stages, bosses, zones and a level map. In this version the Chaos Emeralds have to be found within certain stages other than the Special Stages. Sonic must dash through six zones to face off against face Dr. Eggman at the end of every Zone.

Note: this is a remake of the Mega Drive Sonic the Hedgehog, not the same game.

Has anyone else played this game? I just downloaded it and I reckon it's pretty good. It's definately different than the megadrive versions, but I love the mario-esque frustration factor that you get with it.

I had this on my master system and it was great back then, and I now have it on my wii and its still great!
