www.samsung.com/

Might, but unlikely, go for Samsung model with HD tuner, www.samsung.com/

Please reply ASAP, as Retravision's sale ends today!

I would go for the Samsung, they're really popular. I couldn't be bothered checking all of the specs cos you wanteda quick answer. They also look really sweet. I mean the one with built in HD tuner. I'm not exactly sure what the contrast ratio is but the Panasonic one is higher

definately samsung !!! They are one of the best brands and worth the money due to its higher contrast and resolution. Plus u might wanna shop around before buying cause different places offer different prices and can be further negotiated for a discount.

I bought the samsung 26" lcd and the cheapest i could negotiated was $1400 everywhere. But then i found harvey norman in penrith and they were selling it for store price $1292. Couldn't get anymore of a discount as they get the lcd's at wholesale price for $1280. They do this to try to lift the sales up before the end of financial year so it looks better, better more, customers will come back !!!

Lolz, okay, with Panasonic out of the question, should I go for with HD Tuner or without?

From memory the normal one is $2299 and the one with tuner is $2899.

I'm torn between plasma and LCD now... D:

LCD's are more efficient and lighter, but their blacks aren't as good.

Plasma's have good contrast and are cheaper. But they can get burn-in.

Have I missed anything?

check this out en.wikipedia.org/

Plasmas fade to half life after 60,000 hrs of viewing which = 30+ years of viewing (if you watch your telly for 5hrs+ everyday)

longest ive ever had a tv is about 10 years

plasmas contrast is far superior than LCD as the pixel is switched off when it is black not dulled down like the forever on LCD pixel

the latest gen Plasmas dont have suffer from burn in...theres more about that on the wiki site

Definately go for LCD mate there the best, especially samsung ones, they have game mode! Although LG make excellent 'LCD's aswell.

My Choice:

LG LCD

I would usually say Sony Bravia all the way, they are the best LCD manufacturers in the world. However the game mode built into the new Samsung LCD's could be worth exploring.
