Well i finally got my copy of Shadowman for PC today and it is just as good as i remember. The keyboard controls are clumsy though compared to the N64 version. Now i have personally been in contact with Valiant Entertainment who currently hold the Shadowman game license and they have e-mailed me saying that they have been in talks with Nintendo regarding the appearance of Shadowman on the VC, but it won't be happening for some time due to the large amount of games Nintendo has to pick from/review. What N64 games did you find to be your favourites? Not necessarily ones to appear on VC, but ones you'll never forget. For me its:

Shadowman 64
Forsaken 64 (i am still undefeated and thats where i got the Foetoid name)
Jet Force Gemini
Lylat Wars
Goldeneye/Perfect Dark (obviously)
Resident Evil 2
Mario Kart 64
Turok 2 (i got that for PC too)
both Zeldas.
Paper Mario

I can't think of many others right now, but i am sure the rest of you can.

That game was too hard for me. I could get fairly far, but there was a mission where there were buildings on each side of a railway track and you had to sideswipe building out of the way so the train could get through. I couldn't do it, LOL.

No way, nothing like doom AT ALL. It was more like a very cool version of Tomb Raider. Dual-weilding weapons, indepentant control of each trigger. It's about a guy Micheal Leroi who has his ribcage stitched into the Mask of Shadows, allowing him to travel between Liveside (normal world) and Deadside (where everone, even Shadowman goes when they die). The game is great, the graphics were the best in there day, and the game is LONG LONG LONG. You have to take on the worlds 5 most notorious serial killers along the way (like Jack the Ripper) who are in Deadside as well as collecting these Dark Souls to make you more powerful. The deadside is also filled with Voodoo weopons, but liveside has regular guns liks oozys and shotguns. It is specacular. I recommened everyone get it when it hits the Virtual Console.

My mate always played it and he loved it to death, I borrowed it off him a while later, and I got pretty far, it's a surreal and weird type game, full of Tomb Raider type game play, but you're in a nightmare world, think of Alice In Wonder land gone wrong; Snakes talking to you, hearts pumping as collectables, weird weapons and blood, scary music, weird boss's, blood filled walls, massive castles, dungeons...I could go on

Overall is a damn spooky game, you feel alone the whole game...

Yeah definatly feel alone. The game is quite gory, and there is one section you get to with the background music like carnival music and creepy kids laughing in the background but you're not in a carnival, you're in an insane assylum. It is the wickedest game, and i am stoked i just got it on PC. Valiant Entertainment confirmed it would appear on the VC at 'sometime' so keep an eye out.

I think it's part of the negotiations with the other companies. Maybe the other companies are want too much money from Nintendo to publish their old games on the VC.

Duke Nukem 3D has been my only favourite out of that series...

I played Shadowman and loved it, for it's time it was very adult content game, spooky, gory etc.. I still have the pendent that you got free with the game when it first came out. However it was just too big a game that I wouldn't want to go back and ever play again. I played it for months and forced myself to finish it but then thought.. hmmm won't do that again!! It's quality title for sure but massive to it's own detriment I feel

I tried to buy Shadowman on the Playstation, but it had apparently gotten lost (an employee probably stole the disc), and I got Chase The Express instead, which wasn't a bad game either. Like Resident Evil with terrorists, set on a runaway passenger train.

Would love for them to release it on VC. I'd certainly buy it.

If you like games like this, try Blood and Strife, both first-person shooters for DOS, made back in the 1990s. They both have lots of gore and dark humour, and are very well done.

I tried getting a legit version but it is discontinued and very very hard to get. Your best bet is downloading a torrent of the PC version instead of getting a ROM. At least then you get the nicer visuals. I'll still get it legit for VC as i hate obtaining games/movies illegally, it just robs the devs of income they need to make more better games in the future. I downloaded the movie 300, but i am definatly buying it on DVD when it comes out anyway. Same with Sunshine and Transformers.
