Are your expectations being met?

I know we may have touched on this on other posts but I want to to take this further.

With refernece to Melstorms post "Where is Wii going?" I am concerned about what us Wii acolytes are envisioning for the future of our console.

What expectations do you have for the future of Wii and its games.

I would be hoping that everone try and post just a small snippet of what they expect games and the console to produce over the course of the next year and hopefully we can revisit this thread in some time to come and see whather our expectations were met.

After all we as the "gamer" from whatever our background may be are the ones who are to be catered for.

Oh, and I totally agree with the sword games. Heard nothing but bad news about porr control in Red steel.

i disagree. Red Steel is the first title developed for the Wii, all the mistakes made will be weeded out by the time the next few exclusive FPS titles for the Wii.

I still reckon that Red Steel was rushed in the end for mine.......

My expectations of the Wii have been met and surpassed. Maybe not so much in the software field but the console so far is VERY impressive and really does offer the player a (r)evolution in gameplay.

However, I'll admit that the games are lacking...majorly. And without online play, I find it a little hard for the Wii to go far in this modern age of online multiplayer. That is probably the only thing I can want for the Wii in the future - Online play with games.

lol, i didnt mean that like "in the future all games are gonna be crappy" i meant that the game is a stepping stone into the new game format.

Its just when i glance forward and start thinking about my next game that im not really seeing anything that fills me with enthousiasm.

In fact my next purchase will probably be a game cube controler and Wind Waker. They need to get some quality non mini game games into the market. There needs to be something to follow Zelda.

Yeah i do aknowledge the wii is < 2 months old however im making a coment about a possible future ... or perhaps non future.

Once again im not saying this to upset anyone... this upsets me more then anyone else... i just see a grim future looming.

Absolute faith mate i bought my wii on release day and also zelda without thinking twice. But it has to be called as it reads. I think to be honest they are really overkilling the mote.... why not bring out a few games that dont use motion sensor. Its a cool idea and lots of fun but doesnt have to be used in every single release. This is where Nintendo are painting themselves into a corner.

Great ideas like Mario RPG with normal controlers.. or maybe something similar to the gameboy mario rpg..... How bout New Super Mario Bros Wii. These ideas seem to be so simple they've been overlooked. I think no matter what they need to do SOMETHING!

I know its tough.....everyone can point out a problem but no one has the answer. I must say if they are going to beat micro and sony they are deffinitelly going the long way around. I think that Nintendo needs to throw caution into the wind and just get something happening. Maybe a return to 2D platformer or a birds eye rpg. These games with todays colour and sprite possibilities could come up very nice. The sound would be awesome.... and these are the games we all used to love prior to 3D.

A move like this would easily keep gamers happy and would allow for non gamers to have a simpler intro to games. They would be hitting two birds with the one stone here.

Why not bring out a suped up 2D version of Super Mario Bros.... or even make a new Mario game that uses the format in Super Mario 2. There are endless ideas that Nintendo would really be able to pull off.

How quick people forget, the only nintendo console not all about the graphics is the wii. Nes Snes 64 and GC (*in between xbox and ps2) were the best graphic producing consoles for their time*, were they lacking in gameplay sh!t no! Zelda O.O.T was a graphical masterpeice as was Mario 64 first true 3d platformer ever, then theres perfect dark the list goes on. I love nintendo but hate the wii i cant see anything in the console that even remotely justifies the $400 price tag. My opinion could change over time with price drops and a large selection of excellent exclusive titles. At the moment the future looks even more bleak than the cubes was last time around. Sure it may have sold more but i highly doubt it was a big hit with the majority of core gamers. As for the V.C whats the point without a online hi scores leaderboard at the very least. Ebay is still by far the cheapest and best V.C. Flame me all you want but the wii looks like having no exclusive title dept

No just kidding I agree to a degree, but it is only early days and it has already been said but ti reiterate it has only been 2 months since its release.
Give it time and the classics we start rolling for sure.
As for graphics and price tag, i would have paid what the PS3 is selling for for my Wii.
