My brother has recently bought a graphics card for his computer so he can play STALKER. Here is his problem:
i just bought the ATI x800 XT Platnium Edition, with a Zalman Fan and i installed it last night with all the updated drivers and it seemingly was running fine. But then after a few hours my computer crashed and i was given a blue screen saying the computerneeds to shut down for some error called ati2dvag.dll, or something along those lines. I can play the game fine, but after 5 mins it crashes from a heat?? related problem. I also get a black or blank screen, from there i have to restart my computer until it works.
I have read on other website people have had similar problems. They reccomended a program called Atitool to monitor the graphics cards temperature. I installed it and it turns out my card gets very hot quick. So it leads me to think its a overheating problem. I ran the Max core settings and my computer crashed at about 60 degrees. On restart a thing popped up saying your computer crashed and
Core - 532.64 MHz
Memory - 557.18 MHz
Is 60 degrees to hot for a fan???
I have the latest ATI drivers. I use my computer for music production and it runs fast for that.
I have Win XP sp 2
1 gig ram
if you need anymore computer specs could you please tell me how to find them and ill give them to you.
Ive tried re-installing the drivers and it
