Wii Hardware \ System Update But Already On 3.3

a friend of mine just got back from china, with guitar hero for me..... so its almost certainly NTSC. I have firmware 3.3E (an a d2pro 9wire) at the moment but when i put the disk in it still says it wants to do an update. what would it be updating? am i safe to do so?

ps - sorry if it seems like the same question that gets posted a thousand times a day, but i did search and couldnt find anything like what ive asked.

And it's safe to do so as you are already updated to the max, so it won't update anyway. It may tell you it is and load etc but it won't complete it. Yes it will update 100%, but it's lying .

Game has say 1.4 update on it, if you have 1.5 update already on your console it will say the game disc is updating but it's not. If that makes sense.

And the above numbers are only an example.

Same with all of the ones with updates, like SPM, MP3, SMG etc. Unless they have a new update on them other than the firmware already on your Wii console then go for it.

First game I had was SPM and I was scared, had to do the whole 15% (or it could have been 10%) thing (pull power at 15/10%, also this was to stop the duplicate channels on MP3) and all that jazz. Thought I stuffed it. Same with the PSP I had, it went to a full blue screen and I had just bought it on that day. It just hadn't been turned off properly. I just flicked the power button instead of holding it.

Oh also have fun with GH3 acanby, I love it. I am not really very good at it but it's a lot of fun. I am getting better.

I also played the GH Aerosmith tonight and that is a bit too easy so far. But it could also be that I have just gotten use to the controls a little more.

Oh and I am a LONG way to finishing GH3, I just completed 5 stars on every song on Easy. There's still Medium, Hard and Expert or whatever it is (can't remember) left. I can't see myself doing medium properly really, it's just getting a little smoother in my mind now, I don't have to think as much.

you can use geckoOS/region free to load the custom GH3

I have just started reading about that actually......

However I wasnt sure if it was for disks that had been 'truchad' or some way of alleviating the need for the trucha process in the first place. Ill have to look into it more then I suppose!! Thanks!

No complaints here... I am more than happy with the games I have. And by the way things are going with the new twilight hack, I dont think it will be long before other methods are found to get around the trucha issue!
