Wii Hardware \ Wii Region Codes/Serials

I have a friend in China at the moment. I would like her to buy me one, but I am wondering if she will be able to tell if she is buying a PAL wii based on the outside of the box? (ie serial number)

Also, when talking of regions, can someone please tell me what other countries also use the PAL format, so if possible I can get one.

I spoke with her on the phone about an hour ago, and the person in the shop was saying the ones they had were 'international', So I'm wary. I suppose I am wanting to know if there is a specific serial number to check for, to guarantee that it will be PAL. I don't want to waste my money

Actually not really. I just looked at my Wii Box and on the front or back there's no PAL thing, it's only on the bottom (and maybe on the sides/top, didn't look). I know the pic I posted above was a UK one because of the +7 rating. There's sure to be an easy indication on the box, just get your friend to look at the box before purchasing.

I believe China are SECAM generally but believe they have PAL Wii's though not 100% sure.
