Have you thought about an apple alternative?
I didn't want to be stuck with itunes so about a year ago, I bought a Meizu M6 off ebay. The one I got is an 8GB mp3 and video player that was delivered for a bit less than $200. I think they're even cheaper now.
Meizu also have a model called the M3 which is smaller and cheaper than the M6 for about $100.
Just thought I'd mention it, I don't have shares in the company or anything...

Yes, they are. And they are very well supported unlike the the majority of ipod rip offs being sold on ebay.

thing about the M8 aka MiniOne is that it was slated for a release early this year and it got pushed back and back and back and really i don't think it wont be released til the end of this year even though its been slated for released this august i reckon it will get pushed back once again. oh and cowon D2 or samsung P2 ftw! though they're mucho more expensive

well RoyRanger, are these Meizu reliable?
i have heard storys about alternative ipods/mp3/mp4s breaking easily, im not sure if i can trust them...
convince me, because they are cheap and do look dandy

I've had mine for about a year and nothing has gone wrong and as far as I can tell they have very little fail rates. As I said before the site: www.meizume.com/ is really good and helped with my decision by inspiring confidence in supporting my purchase.
The thing I like about the meizu products is that they have put a brand name behind their models where as a lot or most of the alternative ipods/mp3/mp4s aren't branded and are just called epods or mp players or something like that.
They also don't hide that fact that they are inspired by the apple products, there are similarities but there are differences too.
Oh and as far as the M8/Minione goes, it'll be out when it's out, it is very similar to the iphone too but is better in a lot of ways.
Waiting for things to come out isn't a big deal - I've been a Nintendo fan in Australia for a long time and have waited plenty for lots of things already.
