Wii Software \ Third parties can go to hell

Capcom bringing RE:0 to the Wii is the last straw. Third parties never have and never will support the Wii like they do for the other consoles.

The examples of mistreatment by 3rd parties are many. When Rockstar finally gave support to the Nintendo Wii, they give us a port (Bully), a game that was more trouble than it was worth (Manhunt 2) and to finish it off, a ping pong game. Anything missing? Oh yeah, GTA IV.

Capcom is another example. Yes, Zack and Wiki was good, and RE4 was great, but not an orginal. Likewise, Okami for the Wii while getting great reviews, is once again a port. And now we hear the less than great RE:0 will be flung the Wii's way. Umbrella chronicles was less than satisfactory to compensate Capcom shafting the Wii in terms of RE5. No Devil May Cry, no Street Fighter IV, no Lost Planet. Like Rockstar, the message is: when it comes to our orginial big guns, dont come looking for us.

Sega: yes please, more Sonic Tennis, crappy 3 level Ghost Squad and the abysmal House of the dead (love the craptastic graphics). But the amazingly awesome Viking: Battle for Asgard and Condemned 2? PS3 and XBOX360 only. Wow, I dont feel jipped.

The fact is Nintendo is the undisputed no.1 sales leader with the Wii. The PS3 and XBOX360 have not been able to even attempt to catch up with the Wii since launch day. If 3rd parties wont support the no.1 console, f**k 'em. Nintendo have gotten where they are without them.

Plenty of people were saying 6 months ago that the support would come, but so far I've seen nothing except the conduit which is far from being released, still lacks a publisher, and well, the conduit is just one game, not enough to sway me back to the wii.

from the reviews I've seen of GTAIV, it will be the new no.1 for both ps3 and 360.

Exactly. I've got 10 Wii games, 12 GC games and 12 VC games, not to mention the WiiWare games i'll buy when that comes out. My 10 Wii games doesnt even include Sonic, The Godfather, Mario Kart, SSBB, NMH, Battalion Wars or Geometry Wars, all of which i want to own. Plenty of good Wii games, and i'm picky!

I agree completely with this - to port certain epic games would either look like absolute turd on the Wii, or just not possible as the processing power just won't cut it. That's where Ninny has gambled - a different motion sensing approach to gaming with a cheaper price tag vs high powered cell processors + epic titles. Ninny takes the lead in the market as it reaches a wider audience including nursing homes, and as long as it can continue to produce games that keep the public entertained it will survive. As for the game enthusiast, Wii is great, but the release of epic titles on other consoles may see a decline in Wii sales eventually (if it hasnt already begun), as he/she cashs in to purchase a 360/PS3.
Mind you, I own both Wii and PS3 consoles and this is just my observation over the past 12mths or so. Your opinion may vary.

But on the other hand, its clear that the Wii is doing fine without it. Some people are saying that The Conduit, which is using the Wii like nothing seen before in terms of graphix and utilising the processing abilities of the Wii, will attract third parties who write off the Wii as too weak and powerless for certain games. Don't count on it. Nintendo has blasted expectations in terms of sales and broad appeal, and still they don't come. This year the Wii is predicted to outsell both the PS3 and 360 combined, but still they don't come. It seems these 3rd parties are committed to give the bulk of their support to the other 2 systems, no matter what milestones Nintendo achieves.

Epic titles like Gears of War for example ported to Wii would look terrible for sure..........compared to the 360 version. They could port GoW no worries, take advantage of the superior controls (something like RE4 Wii controls would work) and it would play better than the 360 version. It would LOOK worse, but so what, it would still play exactly the same.

Neither of those games are exclusive. I could go buy Orange Box for my PS3 or CoD4 for my 360. I can't play Galaxy on my pc OR 360.
