At this point (and pretty much history says) that a modchip wont be effected by any firmware updates (i mean if that was the case wouldnt they have changed the firwae rather than make 3- 4 attempts at changing the hardware?
Dont stress the update wont effect the modchip.... however these firmware updates effect Homebrew in the long run.
