Wii Play Review - 8/10
Many people think Wii Play is just like Wii Sports. Well they’re wrong. Wii Play is a bit like Wii Sports but not just like it. Wii Play has little movements unlike Wii Sports, for example Wii Sports may have you swing the Wii remote to hit a tennis ball in a big movement but Wii Play just has you sitting on the couch doing some movement.
This isn’t a problem but I’m just telling people who want a game just like Wii Sports. Wii Play costs $79 but like Wii Sports, Wii play comes with something. This comes with a Wii remote for an extra ten dollars. That’s pretty good considering this game has nine little games in it. The first game in Wii Play is shooting range. You must shoot targets by pointing the Wii remote at the screen. This is fun until you know what’s coming up next by playing it lots. The next game is find Mii where you must find particular Miis in crowds of Miis that you mad. Much harder than it sounds. Pose Mii is another game that has you trying to fit your Mii into bubbles by pointing at the screen. The first few levels are very easy but as you progress this game becomes one of the hardest on Wii Play. Table tennis is a great fast paced game as well. You point at the screen to move your paddle. In single player you have to try rally as many times as you can. Ever wanted to play futuristic version of pong where everything is made of lasers?! Well now you can! Laser hockey is just that. With bright lasers and great spark effects. The visuals are simple but stylish. Billiards is basically pool with motion controls. The only real difference is that you have to hit the balls in order of the numbers. Ready for a nice relaxing game of fishing…. Well not really. Fishing’s visuals, gameplay and controls aren’t very impressive but the feeling you get after catching the mystery fish or the king of the pond is great. Charge is racing game were you must race on a (wool?) cow and knock down scarecrows along the way. The controls feel great and it’s fun while it lasts. Nintendo always save the best for last. Tanks is a game that has you controlling little toy
Tanks in a sort of maze. You have to shoot missiles and plant mines to kill the other tanks. This definitely the best game on Wii Play because you can play over and over again and start off fresh by using a different strategy. Who said little games weren’t made to last?!
Wii Play doesn’t give you much. Lets face it it’s nowhere near as big as Twilight princess (review one day?) but doesn’t have to be. No one likes buying controllers on their own right? When we buy controllers were not seeing anything new just multiplayer on our old games. Well now you can see something new and play multiplayer on your old games! Paying 10 extra dollars for a game is a great deal and if you don’t have Wii Play already, Buy it!
Visuals:80 Controls:90 Sound: 85 Gameplay: 87 Overall: 88 A great game worth the money!
