The parents haven't got the fine yet, they are still deciding on that. He will probably be able to pay for it anyway. Yes the child porn thing is quite well known, this may come back to bite him on the bottom later, depending on how they charge him. With child porn on your record it can harm what employment you do later, not sure with him being 16 then turning 18 as to whether it will all be forgotten though.
I think what will happen is that they will make an example of him now, when it goes to court they will give a slap on the wrist (probably some community work, can you imagine how the Paparazzi are going to be? Imagine the price for the first picture of him picking his nose or something as all the mags etc want to make fun of him) and say that he has a chance of amendment (of which I agree, I've done some stupid things to, especially under 16. I was actually good at 16) and wipe all of these child porn allegations on a good behavior bond. If they even have good behavior bonds in children's courts.
It would also not surprise me with all of this publicity that if in the future he settles down from the party boy ways and becomes like a spokesman to teach other younger party boys that it's "not so cool, go to school" and again makes another fortune.
