cooking mama for $44 worth getting? is that good fun multiplayer?

I *think* the one you're talking about is Jb Hifi's, which is actually $49 >< The multiplayer's okay, just a race to see who can cook faster, I didn't find it that great.

EB Games, well, from the stores here in QLD, I was told that they accept any game for trade, including multiples of the same game.

Went to a couple of EB games around here, said they might not allow u to trade multiples - esp if it's WiiPlay

Ok guys I've rang JB Hi-fi. I can now confirm that they won't take Wii Sports or Play as part of their trade in deal.

Here we go guys, slightly late edition to this week.

As usual, the deals here are a bit of a rip off...

EDIT: I forgot to mention, Wii Zapper and Link's Cross Bow Training is being advertised at EB Games for $49.95, which I thought was oddly cheap...

It's actually surprisingly pretty good. I only played 1 minigame. It still has that Mario Party feel to it. First game I played was a pocker chips mini game (1 vs 3). You had to shoot 3 poker chips at the other characters to try to knock them off. Using the stylus as well...

I don't wanna start a bidding frenzy, but couldnt you look on ebay for some really crap wii games, buy them for $15 each ($45 total), and then trade them in to get SMG? you can save like $35.

I've seen wii play go for $5 on ebay.

Lol. True. Or, if you need new Wiimotes, buy one Wii Play one and one Big Brain one. There's two games already!

It depends what your after. IMO the best deal is just a basic package, i.e. wii console + wii sports and no extras. I think bigw is the best for that. I'm looking to buy a wii also (after my exams finish in a few weeks time), and for me I'm looking to pay around $330 for the console brand new and get the 12month warranty. The only way for me to do that is to wait until target or kmart sell the wii for $350 and then buy it with a 5% discount because I work at coles. Then I'll buy SMG from whoever has the cheapest price.
You can check on ebay, they have some really good deals sometimes, like a 2nd hand wii for $300 (but mostly they come without the receipt).
How important is the warranty anyway? I never hear about wii's malfunctioning.

well, my question was whether a warranty is worth it or not, and no one really answered my question.
Yes, I'm prepared to pay an extra $50 for a brand new wii with 12 months warranty. Nonetheless, there are some very nice deals on ebay which do provide you with the receipts. Don't believe me? Look here:
What you get is a 2 month old wii, with receipt, and zelda tp in addition to wii sports, all for $310 (inc. postage), and yes I realize that this is rare but my point remains that there are good deals on ebay.

It's always a good thing to have. Think of it as a safety-net in case something DOES happen. There have been reports of the Wii's processor getting fried in some Wii's so keep that in mind.

Also, warranties are a MUST with all electronic equipment. If there's one thing that's more unreliable than trusting friend called "Weasel", it's electronics. Never trust them and ALWAYS have a warranty.

I agree. For me, I treat ebay as a given that anything you buy doesn't have a receipt or warranty. Yes, they can have an original receipt for a shop, which helps, but you have to live in the same area to claim it. Being interstate won't help. And if the seller does have a warranty offer, it will be very difficult to get anything done in a hurry, if at all.

It's up to you, but personally, on an expensive thing like any of the new generation consoles, I would match rather purchase from a proper retailer.

Now that's a steal. I guess the most common pricing package now adays is the Wii console (With Wiisports) and some other game for under $400.
