hehe I know who you're using they are cheap as I love em

Yeah Cham when I gave my input it was based on the idea that you could afford to beef it up a little. Knowing you're on a tight budget I'd say stick to what you got there mate.

As for Intel vs AMD it's like Ford vs Holden, I've seen some impressive stuff on both sides of the fence.
I use a C2D and really like it. I picked it over the AMD at the time because it had more L2 Cache memory and was beating the X2 in benchmarks.
Whichever you choose you won't be disappointed coming from a Celeron, that I can promise.

Well.. i'll get an Intel unless i really need to beef it down. Then i'll get AMD, if i get an AMD i can literally get it within my solid price range, meaning i won't have to borrow / pay back anything.

Well, the price i originally quoted you was with the intel core 2 duo and within your price range (well, extremely close enough).

haha nah I don't use them, my PC shop is near Harbour Town but when doing quotes I use the guys on Smith Street as a reference.

ahahaha run into the weirdo from the GC launch, I'd be more scared of the harcore nerds at the smith street store

i had it, hated it, told cham ALL about it
use xp until vista service pack 2 is released (at LEAST!)
+++++ xp service pack 3 is coming out real soon (hooowaye!)
U need better specs of brand names and specs for the second configuration. its very "airy" at the moment, and for $1100, its not sounding too "flash" at the moment....

id say stick with the first one, though making some small alterations, especially for the case/psu.

The 2nd options has an inferior CPU + graphics card. Sure the ram is a bit faster, but thats really the only thing it has going for it besides the scrren + vista.

But then again you can get a 19" for ~ $200, and vista is around $150. So really you could get the 1st package + monitor + vista for around $75 more, and at the end of the day it is a better computer.

Try www.staticice.com.au for prices, as based on there, you could build the 2nd computer for ~

E4500 = $150

7200gs = $50 (could only find 256mb version, though has 512mbs is brackets, pressuming this is the one included)

Mobo = not listed - based on other prices around $100

400gb HDD = 120

Monitor = $200

Vista = $150

dvdr = $50

So you could build this PC for ~ $820, it loooks like its one of their pre-builds which maximises their margin. My 2c anyway

Where did you suddenly get this extra csh from Cham? Its a bit hard to help you if you cant make up your mind on what your budget is.......

Also StaticIce is a very good site if your looking for one part or comparing prices. But keep in mind cham you arent gonna want to order from all over the place. You want it from one place where they will build it for you.

But First mate make up your mind on the budget.

Ok, ok, i HAD $700 and my pop is up and was like 'oh i forgot your b'day present, here's 150 dollars'

I'm still in a sense of just....

ANYWAY.

I'm sorry to cause all the fuss, no one i talk to here wants me to buy from someplace far away, i mean, i still LOVE the first one and want it badly!

Stuart: I have no set budget, i am willing to go upto $1500 for this PC, but now i have a solid $850, so go for your life there.

Again, forgive me guys, i am in the middle of moving into some ****whole that has it's good sides, if i don't get a PC sometime soon i might not have one and i won't have the net or TV for some days and i got assignemnts due it's driving me mad, truthfully at this very second i don't know what day it is.

If you are willing to spend up to $1500, consider this package.

CPU: E6750 , $230
MOBO: Asus p5k , $170
Ram: Corsair DDR2 800, $150
GPU: 8800GT , approx $350, or 8600gt =$200
HDD: 320gb, $100
Case + psu (soprano), $120

=$1120 or $1000 with the 8600gt

This will be a WAY better computer than both you are looking at.

Up that to a 400GB. $122 WD.
Get rid of the Soprano because the 430W tt PSUs are ****. Maybe a Sonata 3? $180.
ASUS are filth. Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L $125.

Agreed with the soprano PSU, but trying to keep it to a budget, with psu included. Best combo in my eyes would be a Corsair HX 620 ($170) and Antec 900 ($165), also a Sonata would be nice, but this is way above his budget it would seem

asus or gigabyte..either way
