Cousins has continually believed he is above the law, hung out with the wrong people and avoided being brought to task over any wrongdoings. Others are to blame for this, not Ben.
But - he's refused to admit to his problems and had others do this for him. He shows no remorse, only a smugness that indicates he's bulletproof.
He has the means, family support and and entire club infrastructure around him to assist with his problems if he wanted to. He appears not to have utilised these.
I feel sorry for adicts and others with problems without any support network - I do not feel sorry for Ben Cousins because he has discraced hes great football abilitys.

Hes a risk not only to himself but the Football club he is associated with!
The reputation of the West Coast Eagles is now lower than ever because of him!
if he was to be picked up by some form of a miracle Most Supporters would not renew there memberships!

I am not defending him at all, but if enough people around you tell you that you are great and can't do anything wrong you start to believe it. Famous people are surrounded by yes men all the time. This is what makes a person go off the rails and head down the road to drugs and booze.

I think you meant to say: It's NOT just him who takes drugs there are a crap load of afl players who take drugs

For Ben Cousins to be drafted he has to nominate for the draft & the AFL has to re-register him which the AFL has indicated they wont do until he has cleaned up, at his age if he misses out in the next draft he will never player again.

You also seemed to have missed the point about the AFL having to re-register him first before he can be drafted which the AFL boss Andrew Demitriou (I know that aint spelt right but close enough) has said wont happen until he sorts his personal issues out which will not happen before the pre-season draft. He wont be able to get away with going to rehab for only a month like last time, he will need to stay in rehab for a few months to prove to the AFL or any club wanting to draft him that he is clean.

If i could take your money I would give you 100-1 that he plays at A.F.L level ever again!

He wont get a game with my local club!

Sure hes still an outstanding Footballer but he obviously has a problem that cannot be fixed simply by changing clubs!
Oh and the rehab.. havnt they tried this twice already?
