I think your TV might be ass. I have a 52" (132cm) LG DLP Rear-Projection TV www.electronicsforless.ca/ which is fairly old technology now but it still had a HDMI port and a great picture. I have always had the Wii connected via component cables and running in EDTV 480p and able to play any games no problem, vc/gc or wii.
