When you look at the Wii games that have been released so far, the ratio of good games to bad is pretty big, most of them are crap.
But look at what the Wii is, and what they're aiming for. It's a console developed in such a way to be appealing to people of all tastes, all ages, casual gamers, and long time gamers. A Jack of all trades, if you will. To do this obviously there are going to be a great number of games that don't appeal to everyone.
I am pretty happy with the games I have so far, not stoked, but happy. I have a ds aswell so I'm kept busy. But if you're looking at the Wii to give you a 'hardcore' gamers fix all by itself, you'll be waiting a while.
Now, that's just the Wii at the moment. I like the games that I'm seeing in the to-be-released section. And as Stuzz78 said, developers have been taked by surprise by the Wii's popularity. You see it in the news all the time 'developer jumping on board to develop new games for the Wii, wasn't expecting it's success'. There are labels popping up that will be designing games specifically for the Wii.
There's also WiiWare, which probably won't be anything mind blowing, but it has great potential. And who knows, if a little game turns out to be popular on WiiWare, it may turn into something huge, a new franchise giving a small developing company the start they need.
I suppose the big word with the Wii is 'potential'. It has a lot, if they start making games that take advantage of it we'll all be happy, if.
