So my question today is, has any of you sent your Wiimote in for repair before? What was wrong with it and how long did it take to be repaired?

Resynced it 7 times (i.e each time it got disconnected i had to go through the whole 'pushing the red buttons' process) but it still won't stay connected. The remote simply switches off after a few seconds from its initial disconnection. From then on it just won't turn on again. Not sure if the power problem is somehow related to the synchronization of Wiimotes because I thought unsynchronized remotes still have access to power at least to search for signals from any Wii systems.

probably cuz they knew there was something wrong with it
The best thing would be to ring Nintendo and let them know about it and they'll probably ask you to send it back to them and get a new one.
