I remember spending all my quaters in Pacman at the bowling alley. But before that I would play with my cousins Maganavox Odysey system (came out in 1972). It had coloured cards that you put over the tv.

Mine would have to be Space invaders on the Atari.
Still a great system to kill a few hours with.

I wish we still had ours, although i am sure i would get frustrated with it pretty quickly if i were to play it now.

I have all three versions of Atari 2600. Granted, they're not ones I had when I was young, but I am a collector. I just remember my NES being the first console I got (I still have it with original box "Action Set" with gun).

I also remember playing, what I think was a Magnavox machine, and the Vectrex.

It's funny, I always remember seeing that ROB on the box of my NES, but never knew what it was.

I bought ROB recently. I still can't figure out how to use it. I have Gyromite. It's missing those funny pieces to move, but I thought it would still work. Well, I can tell it does work, I just never figured the game out. I just grabbed the second controller and work it that way.

My Friend got one for christmas once, I dont remember how it played, I remember using it to play GI Joes, it played good then, as the head of an evil robotic organisation.

Im looking for one in mint condition with box manual and everything, I think I will have better luck looking in canada or japan.

You are correct sir. Haha. I have everything except for any Gameboy Advanced console, and the very original Nintendo consoles, before the Famicom (Family Computer - First NES in Japan). It's orange and looks like the magnavox...

Ouch. I scored a box for $10 from a local ebay seller that had a whole stack of famicom gear, including 2 consoles, floppy drive, and couple of "Disk Doctor" which I won't say what they do, I can't work it anyway.

Im willing to pay more for Complete Boxed Items, I recently sold off a lot of consoles and games, as I want complete Boxed Items in mint condition. When Im in Canada, there are realy good op-shops where you can still find retro games, that have hardly been used, last time I found a Sears Telesports game (atari pong), Complete with box and evey thing, for $10, but the girl at the register told me it had been sitting there for ages and gave it to me for $4.

I must have like 4 Famicoms, and I do have one that is boxed. Man, it was a nightmare trying to get it to work, trying to find the right power supplies. That's awesome you are able to go to op shops in America/Canada. I would love to do that...

Its amazing what still shows up there. I think with big basements and attics, people hold onto toys and stuff for 20+ years, then for what ever reason they have a clean out, and donate a lot to op shops. even garage sales have a lot of nice finds

I've been tempted to checkout garage sales here in Australia, but all the ones I go past look like crappy gear they are trying to sell. Yet, I hear of amazing stories of people grabbing all sorts of awesome bargains.

I know, I think here with the smaller storage spaces in houses, we are getting rid of more stuff sooner than storeing it. So I never find systems at a garage sale here ( I dont go to many) pre SNES. Most earyly systems must already be in collectors hands. I was given a Telstar Arcade once by a workmate having a clearout.
