Wii Hardware \ bit of a wiimote problem...

brawlking says:

hey guys do any of you know what to do if your wiimote stops working? the blue lights on the bottom wont come on at all, even with brand new batteries. could it have something to do with the fact that i left my batteries in the remote for like 2 months without using it at all? if so what should i do?

Mario128 says:

Your Wii-mote should work with new batteries in it. Could it be something to do with the controller not being in sync with the console.

supA says:

Open your battery container, hit the red button does it do anything?

brawlking says:

jac33au says:

Whats the warranty on these things anyway? just buy a new one from EB and go back in a week with this one and get a refund.

trinest says:

Nintendo says to smack it if it has batterys in and dosn't work. Kinda like blowing on your caratges if they arn't working...but half the time it dosn't work...>.<

Foetoid says:

Both my Wiimotes had problems about 3 weeks ago. One kept disconnecting and reconnecting itself to the Wii (very irritating) the other had a permanently stuck B trigger, meaning you couldnt use it to select anything on the Main Screen and it was useless for Wii Bowling. I took them both back to EB with the reciept from the sale, they took 2 brand new ones out of there cases, put the busted ones back in the cases and sent them away, giving me the 2 new ones in exchange.

brawlking says:

wow the old guy who runs my EB would never do that for me.

I think your Wiimote is stuffed. It was probably dropped. If there are no lights at all and you've tried new batteries, then obviously there is an internal problem. Take it back to the store where you bought it from with your receipt, they may replace it for you. I think it should still be under warranty (I know the console has 1 year warranty).

Yeah i have heard lots of bad things about other EB Games stores, but all Nintendo Wii products have a 1 yr warranty so they have to give you an exchange.

brawlking says:

yes! i actually made some progress! i used two brand new interstate alkalines and the remote flashed for a second!...okay now what?

05/28/2007 queens, U.S.A.

mywiisites says:

just take it back if you can.
mine have been playing up latley when i try to turn wii off with them they just turn temselves(wiimotes) off but not the wii so i have to push the off button on the wii which in turn turns off wiiconnect

05/28/2007 geelong

brawlking says:

no wait ive got a pulse from it! iight now can someone tell me exactly how this syncing of the wiimote an the wii works? much appreciated...

05/28/2007 queens, U.S.A.

phatbass82 says:

umm...there is a red button next to where the batteries go in the Wiimote. Make sure your console is turned on. Open the SD-card port on the front of the Wii. There will be another red button. I guess just push the one on the console and then push the one on the Wiimote, or vise versa...

Harlster says:

the wiimote has come unsynced!!! i hate when it happens! what you do is: undo the back of the wiimote there will be a red button, know open a little flap on your wii and there should be a red button there press the red button on the wiimote and on the console at the same time in different patterns then turn the wii off and then on. i did that when my wiimotes were not working (UN SYNCed)and it got my wiimote on.
