Wii Hardware \ My thoughts on Sony

I for one like Sony, I like there TV's, I like the PS2(DEFINATELY, without a doubt the 64 of last gen), BUT I think they are losing out on the PS3...

But you have to remember what the ps3 is capable of doing!
Its ALLOT more capable than a wii.

Wii is great fun!

Ps3 is like a beast unleashing so many different angles of entertainment!

You have to remember what a GAMING console is for; Games.
The Wii is the most practical out of all of this Gen's systems.

Nintendo make their consoles about games.
Sonyt and Microsoft are just out to make money.

I truley believe that they are, that's the halftruth.
They are passionate about video games, but they are out to make a profit. They are always about gameplay - not graphics.

Microsoft on the other hand, are passionate about Windows. The 360 is a good system - no doubt about that. But, they are about graphics. Look at the Xbox. Halo 1, Halo 2. That's about it. If they put half as much effort into games as they did hardware, there would be a perfect system.

Now, Sony.
They forgot what a gaming console was all about.
Playstation 1 hit the spotlight perfectly. Massive library of games.

Playstation 2 had it's moments, as it still had all the big companies supporting it with great titles.

Playstation 3 is where it will end.

MGS4 is now multi-platform.
FF13 is following suite.

The price is too high for the consumer,
The price to manufacture is too high for the developer.

They forgot what gaming was about.
It wasn't about 40gb BluRay discs with 30gb of dummy files.
It wasn't about high definition.
It wasn't about video capabilities.

It was about the gameplay.

If you want a multimedia system, you buy one.
You don't buy a game console to play movies.

The path they have taken really annoys me.

No MGS4 isn't multiplatform, that was just a rumour and is up to Hideo after Sony's contract runs out(I really hope you're right Jack so I don't need to buy a PS3...)...If it sells as poorly as the PS3 then yeah I think it'll go multi, no doubt about it...

I never said nintendo where all about graphics that would be stupid,i'll agree with you on your idea of halo though,it's nothing more then a basic fps.

Now I never said anything about Halo being bad.
It was the best game to come out of the system, and no one can argue with that. It's sale figures say otherwise.

MGS was put on GC, sons of liberty on the green tinged box. Except the MGS on GC was a HEAVY update to the original, it was awesome...

Sorry I had to butt in with a mistake (couldn't help it), its the Atlanta Falcons....
But I agree, from a business point of view they are just diversifying to try and make more profits.
But also yes, in areas like MP3 and Speakers they can't be as good as veterens like Nikon or Apple.
But you seem like most people on this site, a knowledgable person, but to the average ignorant person, say in America, how do they know that Bose make the best sound?
