Rules And Regulations For Mywii.com.au

I am collection information, and writing up some "Sticky" posts for every new, old, and just plain ignorant people to understand how this website in terms of "Forums" should be handled and ran.
This is Part 1.

Part 1 - Threads.

Please when starting a thread, think carefully to what thread starts into what catagory. For instance...

 • Wii Hardware - Anything related to the CONSOLE itself, being channels, information regarding it, questions regarding it, hardware, remotes, etc. This is mainly anything to do with the Wii itself or any hardware related to it

 • Wii Software - Any title that is a "Wii game" goes into here, that discludes VC games, etc. Any other software that the wii might encounter as well

 • Mario Strikers - Enough said.
 • Super Smash Bros - Enough said.
 • GameCube - Enough said.
 • Virtual Console - Enough said.

 • Social - I can't stress this topic enough, the Social catagory is here for people to discuss things that are "Off topic" from the point of the forums; Nintendo Wii. Please refrain from such threads and topics that are "Souly" about "Yourself" ie; "Hey I got this" "Hey what should I do" "Hey, What's going on" etc.
Try to post threads that will involve "Society" in terms of "Social events" etc. Keep them tastefull, where people can have a good input, ie; "Favourite type of music" "Favourite all time games" etc.

 • Buy/Sell/Trade - Obviously, anything you wish to purchase 2nd hand and sell 2nd hand should be placed in here. I strongly suggest at the start of the thread title, as in World of Warcraft always have "WTS - Example" or "WTB - Example" makes things easier, and looks neat. (WTS = Willing to Sell) - (WTB = Willing to Buy) - (WTT - Willing to Trade)

 • Mywii.com.au - Anything regarding the website as a whole.

 • My Discussions - This is where you can keep up to tabs all the recent Threads you have talked in on the site

 • PLEASE DO NOT - Start threads in capital letters
 • PLEASE DO NOT - Create threads names that include the bloody question aswell in the title, for instance "Questions - Does Zelda have a axe up his as....bla bla bla"

Part 2 - Posting

Everyone may post, but please remember there are reasons for posting:

 • To reply to the previous post.
 • To have your own input to the topic (thread) at hand

Basically that's it, you can post to reply to somebodies topic / post, or to reply and have your input to the "Topic" at hand. Anything else is considered spam.
Spam is annoying and it clutters up the threads making them all over the place and hard to follow.

Spam

 • "Lol"
 • "Hahaha"
 • "Harrasment"
 • "Abuse"
 • "Racism"
 • "A reply or post that has NOTHING to do with the thread"
 • "WTF"
 • "Slander"
 • "Linking pages of no interest to the topic"
 • "Intolerance"
 • "Religious bashings"
 • "Excessive use of Emoticons"

Of course the list goes on, but generally it's all considered spam. Some of which will get you warnings and even a ban (Racism, etc) but of course, spam won't get you in a whole lot of trouble, just try have some smarts, and reply to the post or thread with some, and a little bit, of smart thinking.

Part 3 - Piracy, Backing up, Mod chips and Homebrew

Owing to an influx in chip- and ISO-related threads, the following rules now apply:

You are allowed to discuss:
 •  Modchips and their capabilities
 •  Places to buy or install modchips
 •  Places to download Homebrew applications

You may link to these sites.

You may also discuss commercial game dumps, known as ISOs or 'back-ups', but you may not discuss where to obtain back-ups. Commercial games are not Homebrew.

 •  You may not ask anyone on the forums how to obtain ISOs.
 •  You may not link to sites that contain downloads or links to downloads of ISOs, even if those sites are Homebrew sites.
 •  You may not link to sites that offer games that are illegally burned from ISOs.
 •  You may not direct people to torrents or torrent directories.
 •  You may not indicate on which page of a search a good ISO download site is.
 •  You may not link to sites where you can play game ROMs online, even if you cannot directly download them.
 •  You may not offer for sale any modchip or modchipped console.

These rules apply to any copyrighted work, be it a game or an application or a movie.

The penalty for this is an instant, permanent ban.

In addition, any thread that can be answered by a Google search will be locked or deleted, depending on the replies it has received beforehand. We will PM you to direct you to the search result that answers your question. We will be lenient regarding these questions.

A warning, and later a ban, will be issued if a user wastes our time by continually asking such questions. Please use Google where possible: MyWii will never be a pirate's resource.

Part 4 - Video Section

Due to recent complaints about the abuse of the video section i've decided to put up some rules about it:

 • Your video you post must be Somewhat Nintendo related or related to gaming in some way.

 • It must not include any heavy swearing at all, and any minor swearing must be noted in the description.

 • If you find a video that you think breaks one of these rules, simply post so in that videos page or PM an Admin.

 • If the Video has already been submitted again simply post so in that videos page or PM an Admin.

 • Note: we do allow off topic videos on this site, but only a small amount of them. It is members who constantly post videos that are off topic and irrelevant who will be punished

We have stood back and watched what used to be a loved part of MyWii be turned into a spammers home. No more shall that happen.

If an Admin sees you spamming videos in the video section they will get a warning, maybe another followed by an indefinite ban.

Part 5 - Review Section

The Review Section is a part of the site where members can share their reviews with others and let others comment on this, But some reviews are just cheap and spam for kudos, to make sure it isn’t spam, follow these rules:

 • Make Sure it is at least 200 words long or anywhere near that
 • Make sure it doesn’t include swearing, or inappropriate language
 • Make sure the Review has something to do with the game
 • Include at the bottom of your review something like:

Graphics - 10/10
Story - 10/10
Gameplay - 10/10
Sound - 10/10

Follow those simple rules, and your review will not be deleted, if you Review Well enough it may get recommended as one of the good reviews.

You will be let off the first time with your review if you have not read the rules, once we inform you of your mistakes and if you do it again, then we will start to punish you for it

Part 6 - Gallery

In the Gallery pictures must be uploaded from your computer. When uploading a picture make sure that:

 • The picture is big enough to be understood
 • The picture is not inappropriate
 • It has something to do with the Wii or on odd occasions something personal

We will allow some social pictures but not too many of them. Anything that is shown in the wrong way will be deleted and user warned once followed by a ban.

Please try not to double post pictures to the gallery as admins cannot delete them and they may take a little while to be deleted.

Once again please do not be offensive to anyone or cruel in any way with the pictures. If you are posting something that may offend someone, please contact them before hand
