This might not be for Mywii.com.au but it will have an affect on the wii if the proce drop does occur in Australia. So that is my question, Will the new 60Gb 360 arrive in Australia? And will it also bring with it the price drops to it's Arcade and Pro consoles?
If so, and if what they have stated on many other gaming websites is correct, than the 360 will be much cheaper than the wii console. Here is how the pricing is going to work in the states (i never knew how cheap things were over there, and the currency isn't a huge difference to Australia). HERE IS A SNIPET FROM AN ARTICLE ON IGN:
US, August 6, 2007 - Microsoft has just given word that it has officially dropped the price of the Xbox 360 by $50 U.S. dollars to coincide with the release of Madden NFL 08. Beginning August 8, the "Premium" system will retail for $349.99 (down from $399.99) and will still come complete with a headset, controller and 20GB hard drive. The Xbox 360 core system, which is the system only, has dropped $20 itself -- down to $279.99 from $299.99.
So if the premium system, PRO console, goes down $50 than will that mean i'll be able to pick one up here in AUS for $400 by August?or even cheaper?
What are your guys thoughts on this? And oh if you need to put it in the my360.com.au forums, do so.
