I did back in 1996, nowadays Bungie (the creators of that game and HALO) have released all of marathons files and source code for free. I still think its the best trilogy of games ever.

That's true, I hope this doesnt get too hyped games like Brawl and Halo 3 got way over hyped and they're actually really good games but could never live up to the hype they received.

I think the fact that it's a new series will work in it's favour
I for example was disappointed in Brawl because it felt like Melee 2.5 but liked Halo 3 but had never played any of the previous games were other people were commenting that it was like Halo 2.5.

This wont be able to happen with an entirely new franchise.
