I did some more thinking aboutt his and came up with the following hypothetical for example.
Suppose I said to you that I can set up the chess board in a certain way and you will find it almost impossible to beat me. You being an avid chess player accept my challenge.
Half way through the game I realise I put one of the pawns on the wrong square during the set up and by a random chain of events you are now in a position to take my queen.
Is it cheating to take my queen? No.
Did you beat my custom chess game? No.
So it technically isnt cheating, but you cant claimed to have beaten the game either.
