It is the year 3012. Link had beaten an evil force, but when he did, the planet started to break apart. Now, 2000 years later, Hyrule is now a Solar System. Some archaeologists find a small moon, and start to mine. Then, they find Ganondorf's grave and release him. He makes an army of robot minions and gets all high-tech to search every planet to find the Temple of Time so that he can get the Triforce.
Meanwhile, one of Link's descendants is told that he is related to the Hero of Time when his birthmark (a triangle) on his wrist starts to glow. So, you have to get in a spaceship, fly around and go to different planets, track down the temples and try to find the location of the Temple of Time before Ganondorf does.
It'd be awesome because you'd get high-tech weapons, you could get ship upgrades and everything!!
What do you guys think? Imagine fighting Ganondorf with Lazerbeam arrows and a Bazooka!

Fair enough. That's what I've been thinking lately, that if you changed it all, it wouldn't be as good. But it's just an idea anyways.

Don't get me wrong it is a good idea, but when people go out and buy the next Zelda, they expect a Zelda game. The game would have to be renamed

ZELDA: 2010 A Space Odyssey

But personally I feel Metroid covers that kind of genre well enough and the market would not take to another similar game.

I'm tired of being forced to use the item I just unlocked to beat whatever dungeon.
Give us more than 1 way to skin a cat (so to speak).
Also options to play as more than Link.
I loved Majora's Mask for that reason, would be even cooler if you could choose someone from the start and follow their storyline (zelda, link, ganon etc).
