July 25, 2007 - Rayman Raving Rabbids was built from the ground up for Nintendo's Wii and debuted alongside the console on day one. Before too long though, it'd made its way to the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PC as well. Ubisoft's decided to bring the sequel only to Wii, however, and the company's Xavier Poix explained why in the latest edition of Nintendo Power. "We decided to go with the Wii for Rayman and forget all the other consoles, even as ports; they wouldn’t be as interesting without the Wii controls," he admitted. According to the editor of the magazine, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 will once again sport the rail-shooter mini-games from the original, but this time, they'll make use of a new cinematic look that is "revolutionary." Ubisoft apparently said of the feature, "This is a totally new technique; it just didn’t exist before. It took about six months to develop before we were sure we could actually do it." A separate, handheld version of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is also headed to the Nintendo DS, and both games are scheduled to arrive in Australia on November 15, 2007.
