At this morning's E3 conference Nintendo had announced some achievements that not only Nintendo, but the entire Gamimg Industry had achieved. This year so far, in U.S.A. the Video game business is up 46%, it is up 42% in the U.K. and in Japan it is up a whopping 114%! 69% of that growth is from the sale of Nintendo products. This growth is due to three things: 1. The DS has grown in % of sales, in 2005 12% of Nintendo products sales were from the DS, in 2006 23% of those sales were from the DS and so far in 2007, the DS is 25% of the Nintendo growth. It is fair to say the Nintendo DS is the leading product of gaming growth. 2. Since 2005, the players between the ages of 18-24 has got 6 points and 25+ has jumped 9 points. 3. Female players have increased. In Nintendo, the percentage of sales by women are 33%, where as in other gaming industies it is a basic 20% for females. Nintendo DS sales went past the 40 million sales of units worldwide months ago and is now the most successful game system in the world and for all 33 weeks since the launch of the Wii the Wii has been successfully sold out and will soon become the #1 worldwide in this generation.
