High Voltage Software talk The Conduit
Primary Animator of The Conduit, Tony Mecca talks to N-Philes about upcoming FPS for the Wii, The Conduit.
During the interview, he talks of High Voltage expanding as a company to undergo more original titles rather than strictly licensed games.
Mecca unofficially reveals that it has been rated as T (teen) by the ESRB which roughly equates to our own M rating. Don't expect the loss of heads or limbs though, as they aimed at the teen demographic to promote more interest in the Wii market.
Being set in Washington, the game takes you to several real life areas including the Airport as we have seen in previous demos, The Library of Congress, The Pentagon and the White House.
He also talks of how although the Conduit could've been developed for any console due to their external funding, they chose to stick with the Wii .
Tony Mecca said: The way The Conduit came around is that we all had Wiis and we all felt that, okay, Wii Sports was awesome. It was a lot of fun especially when you had family over and things like that, but we felt that there was definitely something missing off this system. A majority of the team is hardcore shooter fans, like PC, like your Left 4 Dead, your Team Fortress, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, things like that. So we're all hardcore PC shooter fans and we wanted to get something out of the Wii. We wanted to prove that the Wii isn't just this little gimmicky controller.
