I actually did an animation test for something a while go using Robtot as the stand in using cell shading and outlines in 3D, if you take a virtual 2x4 to all the perfect geometric shapes and beating the crap out of them it ends up looking pretty authentic. Then theres tool in Maya where you can actually draw all the 2D elements straight on, instead of going through the painful process of texturing so you get this rough as hell look thats cost you bugger all money to produce. What I'd love to do is combine that with some super realistic motion capture, so you've got rough styling with realistic movement.... one day maybe

I actually like the wonkyness of the comics, gives it a sense of the surreal. A sort of Tim Burtonesque reality. I think it would look cool animated.
