I know that a lot of gamers are generally pretty technology friendly so I thought I might see if anyone has any thoughts on something I need to try and do.

I need to do a graph like <a href="http://www.melbournewater.com.au/content/water/weekly_water_update/zoom_graph.asp">this</a> with the little check boxes down the bottom to select what info is displayed on the graph. Besides pulling up the source of that page, anyone have any ideas on how to do something like this and feel like pointing me in the right direction without making a webpage. My poor little google searches have pulled up nothing of much use.

What version of Excel do you have?

I know that Office 2007 has lots of new features.

Hmm I could do it easily without checkboxes and instead making the user type a specific character into a cell that you could adjust to be really small. Give me a bit and I will work out how to do so sort of check box thing.

Okay so I said I would get back to and I am.... Technically this may not be the "correct" way to do it, but it works and will give you what you want.

1. Create your table and fill it with your data.
2. Copy that table and paste it directly underneath your original table - leaving a few rows space.
3. Now open up your forms toolbar and you will find a checkbox. Insert a checkbox somewhere on your sheet and name it the first column of your data (eg. 1997).
4. Right click on the checkbox and click "format Control". Select "Checked" under Value and then in Cell Link Select a cell that is in between the two tables, and in the column that holds the "1997" (eg) data. (for example purposes lets call it B17) Click Okay.
5. Now whenever you tick the box the Value of TRUE is entered into that cell you selected (B17).
6. Now in the Second table click on the cell that contains the first bit of data from your top table. What we want to achieve is if you click on the checkbox it will copy the data from the top table down to the bottom table.
7. Insert an IF statement into the bottom table stating that "If B17 = True, then copy from the top table, otherwise dont put anything - (eg. IF(B$17="TRUE",B2,"")
8. Now drag fill the rest of the table. The dollar sign will ensure it always looks at the same row but changes the lookup Column. Now go and create a checkbox for each Column of data (eg. 98, 99,). Once you have done that the table will already

Be pre filled.
9. Next step is to create your graph off the bottom Table.
10. Once that is done we get a bit shifty and we change the font colour to match the background so that we cant see any of the bottom table. Make sure you also remove the lines off the bottom table. For some reason it doesnt work when you hide the rows so this is one way that it will work. If you worried about someone typing where they shouldnt then create another worksheet and put the table we are to hide on that sheet.
11. Now when you click the check box your graph should update. To the naked eye it looks as if there is a heap of code but hidden away is our little secret.

I think this is the easiest way without getting into coding. You will get the same result but just a lot easier.

That may seem a bit confusing as its a bit hard to type all that info but if you want PM me with your email and I will send the file predone so we can discuss looking at the same sheet.
